Bamako, March 23, 2025 – “Photovoltaic solar energy in remote locations” is the theme of the next training session organized by the Solektra Solar Academy, which will take place in few weeks, from 2 to 13 May 2016. This training session is open to project managers or designers and maintenance professionals, who
- Speak French
- Have basic knowledge of electricity systems
- Are graduated with a technical high school degree, a vocational training certificate, a bachelor or master degree in PV systems or physical sciences.
During 10 days, the training session will address 3 specific topics:
- Basic knowledge on solar energy and practical skills on PV system sizing
- Practical courses on how to handle solar equipment
- Introduction to solar sizing software PVSyst
The academy will organize tutorial classes focusing on each of these 3 topics in order for participants to acquire new skills or reinforce their existing competences. As a result of this training, participants are notably expected to have a good understanding of solar PV systems sizing in remote areas, know all about the components of such an installation and be able follow in possible issues according to security and safety standards.
The training will be a good opportunity for the participants to expand their professional network, exchange with their counterparts coming from different African countries and even consider potential partnerships.
As the Solektra Solar Academy promotes a pan-African vision for development, the academy’s management very much hopes that this second session will attract French-speaking Africans coming from all over the continent, beyond Mali. Some specific partnerships are also being discussed in order to soon offer trainings in English.
