Solektra International’s cofounders, Akon, and Thione Niang Samba Bathily, participated on December 6th in the REenergising the Future conference organized by the International Renewable Energy Agency (IRENA) around COP 21 negotiations in Paris. These high-level exchanges with personalities from civil society and political leaders such as Bertrand Piccard, Solar Impulse’s pilot, Ahmed Belloul, CEO of Masdar, Adnan Amin, IRENA’s Director General or European energy Commissioner Miguel Arias Canete, gave the cofounders the opportunity to further present Akon Lighting Africa project and its success to date and to discuss the best ways to collectively promote renewable energy.
